Interfaces:
- Interaction design is a life learning - 3 years bachelor are not enough to learn everything..
- the first computer interfaces were developed in the 1970s
- “xerox” was one of the first with the more moderen graphical approaches.
- In the 80s the first graphical editor was developed. It was the successor of todays softwares like Photoshop.
- That people would feel comfotable and save using early graphical UI, they designed the icons like real-life objects. For example the trash, folder, etc.
- The mouse got iterated quite a lot, but is now stuck in a state of multi-touche (Touchescreen) since 10 years.
Data:
- First date was stored with punchcards or paper with systematic holes in them. One were able to programm simple maschines with this method.
- After the first programeable CNC machines were developed. First only two axis, then three.
- A new approach was the so called parametric design. It rethought how design softwares work.
- in the early 2000s, 3d printing got accessible by the public. This is because patents expired, which prevented the public from building 3d printers earlier.
- Adrian bowyer’s reprop was the first public and opensourced 3D printer.
- Star Trek is the origin of a lot of todays tech design.
